What stays private
Your dictation audio and transcript stay on your Mac in the general-release app. Take Dictation does not send them to us for transcription, cleanup, or advertising.
What can connect
The direct-download app may check a signed update feed so it can tell you when a new version is available. That check is not your dictation content.
Beta testing is separate
Some disclosed beta builds may offer an opt-in accuracy-study switch. If that switch is on, the app explains exactly what will be shared. That code is not part of the general-release dictation path.
No small print promise
